With the success of work comp guru in IN I thought it might be a good idea to expand into the next logical state, Illinois. So I have been building my network of people to know in Chicago and attending some of the conferences, meetings and events that are offered there. Here are some highlights:
Hennessy & Roach hosts Third Thursdays at their office each month – A work comp attorney from the firm will review a case study or sections of the IL work comp statute that pertains to their clients.
National Workers’ Compensation Coalition hosted it’s 1st meeting in Chicago in Feb to introduce the organization, board and mission to a group of defense attorneys, employers, insurance groups, case management companies and a few work comp services providers, like me. Rich Lenkov, Partner with Bryce Downey is the president and is traveling to many states to start this group up and share best practices, insight and networking opportunities. The primary link for this group will be the opportunity to help employers have a voice in state and federal legislative changes.
Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers hosts multiple meetings in IL and IN for case managers, insurance adjusters, employers and others to learn about medical and rehab subjects. The last event was a breakfast conference with over 190 attendees listening to Physicians from Midwest Orthopedics at Rush
