Watch out Vegas…WCGuru has arrived

Well Guru has landed in the land of decadence, Vegas, for the National Worker’s Compensation Conference. Lots to do, see and discuss. Not sure if we’ll have enough time to attend the conference with all the shows, shopping and man watching we really want to do. Can you say, Thunder Down Under shows ladies?

But seriously, this is a first time WCGuru has been invited, on a national level, to cover a conference of this size. We have reviewed the agenda, have our game plan and will be covering as many of the courses as possible, a few that I am very interesting in: The Regional Conflicts: Midwest (updates based on reforms and business climate in each section of the states), Bloggers Speak Out – popular bloggers weighing in on work comp issues. I selfishly hope that one day I’ll be included in this group of professionals!

I have two special guests that will help WCGuru cover the courses provided: Lisa Moyer, Regional Claims Manager with Eastern Alliance and Tina Brown, Sr. Claims Representative with Brentwood Services. Both will provide some insight from the insurance provider side along with takeaways they could provide to their employer clients.

There will lots of ways to follow the event: WCGuru on Twitter, LinkedIN and of course our website, the National Conference even has a twitter feed @NWCDConf and a great mobile app to set up your schedule, review speaker bios and send out social media updates, wish I thought of this, love it!

Stay tuned for the updates, we promise they will be good!

Review Laws, Prep Safety Training for Seasonal Teen Employees

Like Alice Cooper says, “School’s out for summer.” This sends many teens hitting the pavement in search of a job. This flood of new employees brings with it new opportunities and challenges for employers as teen workers are at an increased risk of injury. An estimated 70 teens die each year fr[...]
